Dimitris Bakos

Dimitris, with family origins in Perachora of Loutraki, Agnanda of Arta, and Myriki of Evrytania, is a graduate from the Hellenic Open University, specializing in Greek culture. His journey in dance began at the age of 13 with the Association of Loutrakiotes Perachorites, later joining the dance group of the Lyceum of Greek Women of Athens. Since 2004, Dimitris has been professionally teaching Greek traditional dance across various ethnic associations and cultural clubs, including the Association of Loutrakiotes Perachorites, Dance Club Eirini of Heraklion Attica, Lyceum of Greek Women of Megara, Lyceum of Greek Women of Tripoli, and the Asia Minor House of Corinth. His passion for music began in 2005, leading to an apprenticeship with Ivan Costov on the bagpipes. In 2010, he expanded his musical expertise, teaching himself the Tsabouna while studying the Kaval under Stavroula Tryfiati. Over the years, Dimitris has showcased Greek traditional music and dance in numerous concerts, performances, and festivals both in Greece and abroad. Notable venues where he has performed include the Dora Stratou Theatre, the Herodes Atticus Theatre, Athens College, and the Michael Kakoyannis Theatre under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, where he is the curator of musical and dance performances.
