Things To Do & See
Below are some of our top picks for things to do in Banff—perfect for taking in the scenery, exploring the town, and making the most of your visit. Walking is recommended for most places in town, but you’ll need to drive to the Gondola, Fairmont Hotel, and Hot Springs. When you arrive at the park entrance, be sure to stay in the left lanes to purchase a park pass—it’s required to enter Banff! Banff Gondola
Take a scenic drive to the Banff Gondola and ride up Sulphur Mountain for 360° views of the Rockies. You can purchase tickets online ahead of time for faster entry or at the booth on arrival. Don’t forget a jacket—it can be 15–20°C cooler at the top. Also, make sure to walk along the mountain path at the top to the "lookout". This is a must-do for panoramic views and photo ops.

Banff Springs Hotel

Bow Falls
Easily accessible by car or a 15–20 minute walk from Banff Avenue or a short drive. This is where the fresh glacial water that supplies Calgary begins its journey. Dip your hands in the icy water and take in the rushing falls surrounded by forest and mountains.

Banff Upper Hot Springs
A relaxing stop after exploring. These natural mineral hot springs are perched above town and surrounded by mountain views. It’s best to go early to avoid crowds as its first come first serve, and don’t forget to bring a bathing suit and towel.
